H.D paramahansa Omkarananda Saraswati, a famous Hindu mystic, founded the ashram in 1967. Our Ashram provides all of the situations, settings, and amenities necessary for the growth of Bhakti, intensive selfless service, and everyday realisation of God. The only goal of all Ashramites' activities is to achieve a God-experience. School administration is only one of the many types of altruistic service they do. Formally and informally, all of our Ashrams take the shape of temples. Pujas are held on a daily basis. We are in charge of temples. Spiritual material is printed and distributed by us. Apart from the Ashram's basic spiritual activities, we offer meditation courses, Bhajans, and Yagnas, and people have their own spiritual practises. Every speck of dust, every rock, and every tree in the Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas and beyond is alive with the glow of Swami Omkarananda's spiritual realisations, bearing silent witness to this incomparable Sage, his Wisdom and Purity, and his unbroken experience and adoration of the Divine Presence in all beings and things. Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas is situated in a most sacred location beside the holy river Ganga, and is close to Rishikesh, a historic pilgrimage site, as well as Sivanandanagar and the famed Lakshman Jhula.
