Rooms/ Suite/Villa

Travancore Room-    This is situated in the historic Kuroor Mana. This room is designed in order to recreate the room of a Karanavar, who is considered as the Male head of an aristocratic joint family in the Kingdom of Travancore, in the early 18th or 19th century Kerala.

Oonjal is a beautifully carved traditional swin which is used to relax, meditate, read or simply be is what that dominates the room.

The room also pays homage to the Kerala elephant. It is an artwork on natural Tussore that depicts a temple elephant with its ritual forehead ornament and the glittering nettipattam. This is fringed by 2 ancient carved pieces of wood which reminds the magnificent teak and rosewood forests of Travancore

Ambara Mana-  At Ayurvedagram, Ambara Mana is a twin cottage without a compound wall. It is said that this cottage is over 70 years old and has two Heritage rooms within it as well. This place takes you back to the times as you see the extensive use of wood and the patina of ancient times visible in its artistry. Each of the rooms has an enclosed bathroom and there is a pretty little private garden.

Aranmula Palace-     This is considered as the palace of the mother of the Aranmula Royal House which migrated all the way from Madurai (which is now in Tamil Nadu) to Kerala on the banks of the River Pampa.

 Aluva Pushpakam-      In the traditional Kerala houses of Kerela where Nambiars lived and were called Pushpakam and Aluva Pushpakam that was originally located on the banks of the river Periyar at Aluva, Central Kerala. This cottage is a typical Nalukettu which belonged to traditional Nambiars with exquisite carvings on its wooden walls & ceilings. The inner Courtyard is made in such a manner which ensures continuous flow of fresh air even during typical hot humid weather of Kerala.

 Kootumkal Mana-    Thereares 2 heritage rooms in Kootumkal Mana. It is a traditional Muslim House which is owned by a prominent social leader and landlord, who was assigned land and special privileges by the King of that time. This house is rectangular in shape and has a common verandah which runs all along the cottage. The roof of the cottage is hipped with ornamental cables. This cottage is typical of its time and social status. The material used for making this fabulous Mana was largely timber laterite and kiln burnt clay tiles for the roof. The rooms in this cottage have ensuite bathrooms which is opened to the sky with modern fittings.

 

Kuroor Mana-     This is the160-year-old ancestral home which once belonged to the famous Kuroor family of Trichur in Central Kerala. Some of the great poets and social teachers of Kerala like Kuroor Neelakandan Namboothiripad and Kuroor Unni Namboothiripad all comes from this family. There is association of this imposing heritage house with the legends of Lord Guruvayoorappan. Mahatma Gandhi has also walked along the corridors of this house. The Classic category of rooms of this place are all very well laid out around the central courtyard of this large house.

Kayamkulam Mana-    There are Elegance suite and 2 Heritage rooms in Kayamkulam Mana. Kayakulam Mna was home of a wealthy Muslim family Rawathur. Rawathur is similar to the designation similar to Zamindar. This designation is conferred by the King on a courtier with special privileges. This is a large beautiful traditional courtyard house with a peculiar ‘L’ shaped corridor. The house was built at the beginning of the 19th century.The rooms at the house are located around a pillared, common, red-oxide sit out, which itself encloses a nalakettu or courtyard.

Nallamuttam Tharavadu-    It is also known as the Poet’s Cottage. Nallamuttam Tharavadu is an independent cottage. This is made up of teak and rosewood. It was once owned by a renowned 19th century poet in Kerala, Sri Nallamuttam Padmanabha Pillai. This is an L-shaped house, along one arm of the house is a foyer supported on highly ornate pillars and carved ceiling. There is also a deep rosewood sitting platform that runs along an entire side of the foyer. This is actually a chest traditionally used to store rice.

The bedroom is spacious, and along with a traditional vaulting roof and an en-suite bathroom overlooking a small private courtyard.

Neeloor Mana-   It was owned by Joy Neeloor, who was a local leader of Neeloor. Neeloor Mana is a L-shaped house made up of timber and tiles with a broad verandah. There are also ornamental cables on a hipped roof. It comprises of 2 Heritage rooms with enclosed bathrooms.

 Muhamma Mana-    Muhamma Mana is what is called as the Harmony Suite. This cottage is 75 years old. This cottage is made of teak and rosewood and sits in its own garden with a walled compound. It was built for a well-known musician by a local king as a reward. It consists of 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms – 1 enclosed and 1 open to the sky.

 Pulinkunnu Mana-  Pulinkunnu Mana is an exquisite Mana. It was relocated from the lush backwaters of Kuttanad. It is an archetypal Kerala house.It was built of timber and tile. It has also borne silent witness to innumerable judiciary proceedings, carried out by the kings of yore.

Library-      Activity Centre and Library

The Activity Centre and Library at this place is ensconced in a small room which is airy and bright situated next to the amphi theatre. There is a largely glass faced wall. It looks out into the greenery as people gets comfortable with the several books that the library has here.

It caters to the diverse interests of the guests coming to this center. There are books related to philosophy or spirituality or even fiction.

Guests can browse through and borrow any of the books and can read that book in the library itself or they can even take it to their room to ead during their stay with the center. However, may the authorityrequest the guests to please return the books to the library before they leave so that other guests could read them too.People can also any books and magazines that they might want to leave behind.

Amphitheatre-    Amphi Theatre

The Amphi theatre is located in the right centre of the property. It is an inviting patch of stepped green that add to the ambient beauty of the Gram. The capacity of this theatre is around 200 people at a time.The Amphi theatre often hosts dance and music programs which enthral the guests.


Conference Hall-    The Conference Hall of the property is an air conditioned compact and comfortable space. The capacity of the conference hall is 20 -25 guests around a U – shaped table setting. The capacity can also be increased to seat 70 people if arranged in a regular fashion. There is a projector and a PA system as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner according to the preference of the guest. The food is pure vegetarian.


Gym-    There is a small gym with some essential equipment and the guests are most welcome to use it whenever they wish to, but they have to take the prior permission

Herbal Garden-   At Ayurvedagram, they believe in offering their guests healthy and organic living. So,they have fresh vegetables and herbs growing right within their property tended to lovingly by their gardeners.

Guests are always welcome to help the gardeners in their pursuit to a lush vegetable garden. They will be only too happy to be helped!


Jogging / Walking track-    A sand filled pathway winds its way through the property of tree lined grounds. Guests can walk along as imbibe the fresh fragrance of medicinal plants and herbs and breathe in the unpolluted air. 


Pharmacy-    There is a pharmacy which has a complete range of both classical and proprietary Ayurvedic herbal formulations. The total 400brands are equipped in the centre.

The medicines are stocked in the pharmacy.Medicines can be usedby both the inpatients and outpatients. The efficacy of these medicines is beyond reproach

Recreation / Sports- Ayurvedgram believes that sports and recreational activities help in the fastest healing process. Therefore,guests are welcomed to enjoy a game of badminton or volleyball or even a brisk game of table tennis or a skilled game of carom and other board games.

Treatment Centre-     The treatment centre at Ayurvedagram is retained in the Pulinkunnuveedu. It is a 70-year-old house which belongs to belonging to a wealthy landlord in the heart of the Kuttanad region.

It has high gabled openings and a ridged roof which is typical of the classic house.This shaperesembles the famous snake boats of Kerala. Thehouse has been divided into two identical halves which comprises of four treatment suites each for ladies and gentlemen.


Yoga Hall-   Yoga hall is called Kalithattu. It is a Cultural Hall or Yoga and Meditation Centre that is located within Kuroor Mana which is the largest houses in the property. It is an architectural splendor.There are massive pillars with beautiful carvings. This is an ideal venue for cultural performances, recreation, yoga and meditation. The total area of the Yoga Hall is 169. sq. mt. This assembly hall can accommodate a gathering of 75 people
